THE GREEN SCHOOLS PROJECT

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This year our school has enrolled in the Green Schools Project. This is an International Environmental Awareness Project designed to encourage and acknowledge whole school action for the environment. It is run in co-operation with Local Authorities and is managed by An Taisce – The National Trust for Ireland.

We are currently taking the first steps on the project process that are centred on Litter and Waste. The emphasis is on reduction of litter and waste with particular emphasis on the ideas Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We have set up an Eco-Team {Green Schools Committee} consisting of children from 3 rd, 4 th, 5 th & 6 th classes, ancillary staff and parents.
