Liam’s Match Report

A Glorious Day for the Angels

On Friday the 7th of September ‘ 07 Queen of Angels participated in a Gaelic Football Tournament, the Fir Bolg Tournament. We were in group B. Our first match was against St Olafs team C; they were in 3 rd and 4 th class. After half time we were well ahead and it was too late for Olafs to fight back. They tried but we were too strong. After twenty minutes (1 whole game) we conceded only two points. At full time the Angels won 3-5 to 0-2.

Next we were up against St Mary’s (Sandyford) and they had one very good player. Anyway we got on with the game and what a hell of a game it was .Lauren Boland scored 4-1, and we won 5-5 to 0-0 (20 points).

Then we played against Clonskeagh, who had won all their matches so far. In the second half we were winning and Clonskeagh were falling behind, we ended up winning.

Lunchtime arrived, but we didn’t eat much, we didn’t want stitches for the remaining matches!

We played Clonskeagh once again and thanks to the superb goalkeeping of Christy and our captain Daniel, we brought the Fir Bolg back to Queen of Angels!
