Queen of Angels are participating in the national Re-turn Deposit Return Scheme as a sustainability initiative and more importantly as a much-needed fundraising method for our school. Eva, the chairperson of our Parents Association, set up this great initiative before christmas and it has been running very successfully ever since. She placed dedicated collection bins for plastic bottles and aluminium cans in every classroom and every Thursday, some of the prefects record the number of cans and bottles that are collected by each class. At our Friday assembly, Ms Donegan announces the class that brought in the most recycable containers in both the senior and junior block with the winning classes receiving extra playtime for their efforts.Since the start of January, Kathy has very kindly collected the bottles and cans from all the junior and senior classes and returned them for recycling to her local supermarket and so far we have collected a substantial amount of money for our school. Thank you,Kathy and Eva. We are all very proud of the children's efforts.
