Queen of Angels football teams had a busy couple of weeks in June.
On the 17th June, our two 6th Classes took part in the Jonathan Harris Cup against lots of local schools. The competition took place over in St Mary's Football Club. The 6th Class girls had a phenomenal day: they won every match, including the final. The girls lifted the Cup for the 1st time.
The boys played matches in their group and qualified for the Shield Final. At one point they were 3:1 down. But they came back to draw the game 3:3. As a result they went to penalties. In front of all the other schools, we had a penalty shootout. After 5 penalties each, we went to sudden death. The first two penalties were saved and Alan, in Ms Dunne's Class stepped up to take his penalty. He placed it skillfully into the corner, winning the Shield in dramatic circumstances for the boys: the crowd literally, went wild!
