Open Day, 2026

We were delighted to welcome families and visitors to our recent Open Day, where they had the opportunity to experience the vibrant and inclusive life of our school. The visitors learned about the wide range of activities, programmes, and opportunities available to our pupils.

From sports such as soccer, swimming, Santry, cycling, GAA, chess, cricket, rugby and Sports Day events, to music, choir performances, infant nativity play and Halloween,Christmas and Intercultural Day concerts, our school offers something for every child. Visitors also explored our strong focus on literacy and numeracy, including Maths Week, Book Week, Reading Recovery, EAL support, Time to Read, and Time to Count initiatives.

We are also very fortunate to be located on the doorstep of the Luas, giving our pupils easy access to the many educational and cultural opportunities that Dublin city has to offer. This allows classes to regularly explore a wide range of destinations, including museums, galleries, cathedrals, castles, parks, and other places of historical and cultural significance, enriching learning beyond the classroom.

A particularly valued aspect of school life is the strong link we share with our local secondary school, St Tiernan's Community School. Through this partnership, our pupils enjoy a variety of enriching experiences throughout the year, including science workshops, art lessons, sports activities, and special seasonal events such as Santa visits.

Our commitment to wellbeing, inclusion, and diversity was showcased through programmes such as Bí Cineálta, SPHE, Neurodiversity awareness, Grandparents Day, Christmas Jumper Day, GOAL Jersey Day, Friendship Week, Children of the World, Intercultural celebrations, celebrating the sacraments and events marking Eid, Diwali, International Women’s Day, and Seachtain na Gaeilge. Families also learned about our Green School initiatives, outdoor garden, breakfast club, nurture room,Afterschools, Sensory Room and the many opportunities for pupil leadership and community involvement.

The Open Day highlighted the warm, welcoming, and caring atmosphere that makes our school such a special place to learn, grow, and belong.
