The 2nd Class Breakfast Assembly was a great success this morning. The children confidently shared all they have learned throughout the term, and we are so proud of their hard work and enthusiasm.
They spoke beautifully about Saint Brigid and the story of her magic cloak. The children created their own paper-woven St Brigid’s cloaks and sang the well-known song dedicated to our national saint, “We Sing a Song to Brigid.” They also celebrated how St Brigid is known as the harbinger of spring and crafted lovely paper daffodils using recycled egg cartons.
The children then told us about the Chinese New Year and delighted everyone by singing a beautiful song in the Chinese language.
They also explored the life of Saint Valentine and learned how he secretly married couples. We loved their carefully paper-woven heart shapes inspired by his story.
In addition, the class learned about space, and we all admired their colourful chalk pastel drawings of the solar system. Parents also had the opportunity to view the wonderful artwork created for Grandparents' Day, which was proudly displayed in the hall.
A big thank you to Ms Downes for preparing a lovely coffee morning for parents in the junior block. It was a truly enjoyable and memorable morning for everyone involved. And a big thank you to Ms Butler and Parm for preparing the children to so fabulously.
