Last Friday, Mr Price and 3rd Class hosted their Breakfast Assembly, and it was wonderful to see so many parents and family members come to the hall to support them.
The assembly began with the children exploring the history of travel. They talked about early forms of transport such as donkeys and horses, before moving on to bicycles and the development of steam engines and rail travel. They then explained how the first car was introduced by Henry Ford with the invention of the Model T Ford. The children also created colourful Andy Warhol- style paintings using images of cars. Inspired by the pop art artist Andy Warhol, they used bright colours and repeated car designs to create their own striking pieces of artwork.
The children also spoke about sea travel and how it allowed people to explore and travel across the world. From there, they moved on to space travel and mentioned the first rocket ships that made journeys beyond Earth possible.
As part of their project work, the children created their own paper bicycles using bun cases and other craft materials. We loved their pirate profiles which were very cool! They also performed a lively sea shanty, accompanied by Mr Price on the guitar. The children also created their own projects on travel.
The class recited a wonderful poem about travel and finished their assembly with a fun and energetic performance of the song “Life is a Highway.”
The parents joined the class for a lovely breakfast afterwards in the junior block prepared by Ms Downes. Well done, Mr Price's Class on a wonderful breakfast assembly! You were brilliant!
