4th Class went to St.Tiernans last week to do another science experiment. With the help of Science teacher Mr.Curran and some 5th year students, they learned all about how fireworks are made and how they produce their colour. They then got to test this by using copper, potassium and strontium and observing what colour these substances produced when mixed with a flame. They produced some wonderful coloured flames. They had to work very carefully in their groups. It was a very exciting experiment and they all really enjoyed the day.
