4th Class visit Airfield and the Museum of Childhood Ireland
Fourth class were very lucky to be invited to the temporary residence of the 'Museum of Childhood Ireland' down at Airfield farm. We were very grateful for the sunny day on our leisurely walk down the road.
The childhood museum is a contemporary museum exploring the right to a childhood and championing children. By recording and framing childhood experiences across current and past generations, they aim to preserve and enlighten future childhood experience.
We took part in a workshop discussing the rights and experiences of our childhood in the gable area of the farm. We then designed our own posters on what are the most important children's rights to us individually. We came up with some really interesting ideas and beautiful artwork!
Time for lunch! Our group enjoyed a picnic with the Rhode Island red hens. They were delighted to see us again! We finished our day in Airfield by exploring the forest, playing tag and zipping down the zip line! What a wonderful time was had by all!
